International yachting giants are queuing to anchor at Asia’s leading superyacht event Kata Rocks Superyacht RendezVous. Infinite Luxury in collaboration with Kata Rocks is very proud to again host the KRSR from 8 to 10 December and bring back some of the world’s most iconic superyacht brands to Phuket.
An event that elevates the profile of the island, and promotes around the world the brand Phuket, Southeast Asia’s leading luxury destination and superyacht hot spot. “I am very proud of the entire team, in just two years they have helped establish KRSR as the must attend superyacht event in Asia,” summarizes Richard Pope, CEO of Infinite Luxury. “It already is known as the most exclusive invitation-only superyacht happening in the region, welcoming superyacht owners, Kata Rocks villa owners and the Asian glitterati.” Mr Pope said that Feadship, the famed Dutch superyacht builder, with roots dating back to 1849, is thrilled to return to the KRSR as a co-sponsor. According to Bas Nederpelt, Commercial Director Feadship, the company is pleased to increase its involvement at the 2017 event as a co-sponsor. “Following the huge success of last year’s KRSR, Feadship is again delighted to be taking a leading role this year and to once again host the Feadship Owner’s Dinner. The KRSR is helping Phuket become Asia’s top yachting destination,” Mr Nederpelt added.
Benetti, one of Italy’s most prestigious motor yacht brand and VistaJet, the global private jet leader, have also signed on to co-host the Benetti and VistaJet Owner’s Dinner. “We are very pleased to return to the KRSR this year. It was a fun and engaging event last December with the stunning cruising ground of the Andaman Sea as the backdrop. Meanwhile, we are honored to partner with VistaJet – the world’s leading business jet provider for a highly exclusive owners’ dinner during the KRSR,” said Peter Mahony-General manager of Benetti Asia Ltd.
Media participation at the 2017 KRSR is expected to reach new heights with the addition of Boat International, the global media authority in super yachting. Stewart Campbell, Editor at Boat International, said: “The KRSR really set the bar last year and we had some great conversations with owners at Monaco about attending the event this year, as the perfect way to kick off the Asian charter season. It is already established as the leading luxury superyacht event in Asia as owners look for alternative cruising grounds and new charter opportunities.” Michael Nurbatlian, Director of Marketing Infinite Luxury added: “This year we endeavour to expand all our objectives to increase both media coverage and the number of participating superyachts.”
From 8 to 10 December, Kata Rocks Superyacht Rendezvous, by invitation only, will feature a series of bespoke activities, glamorous parties and social events that effortlessly mix networking and socializing in a relaxed and luxurious environment.
Highlights from this year’s fun-filled programme includes Contest Yachts’ Brand launch in Asia, a welcome reception and a cruise with the fleet for a private gourmet BBQ at The Surin Phuket. There are also numerous private cocktail parties including the Burgess brunch on board Northern Sun, the Lee Marine Champagne tasting in The Wine Cellar, the Royal Huisman Private Brunch–in a Kata Rocks’ Penthouse, the Boat International Cocktail Party, superyacht owners’ dinners, the Champagne media breakfast, a “yacht hop” and “big boy’s toys” presented by Sea-Doo, the Northrop & Johnson sunset cruise on board the Zeelander and the grand finale, the Kata Rocks Charter Season Opening Party.
According to Josh Lee, Founder & Managing Director of Lee Marine: “We are thrilled to be supporting the Kata Rocks Superyacht Rendezvous again. Thailand’s yachting region has so much growth potential and, this gathering pushes that point home.”
The Kata Rocks Superyacht Rendezvous (KRSR) continues its mission to elevate Phuket to elite destination status. The event empowers Phuket and allowed it to claim its rightful position as the region’s superyacht hotspot, capturing the interest and imagination of Ultra High Worth Individuals (UHWI).
The event appeals to yachting’s sophisticated superyacht elite and UHWIs by enticing them to sample a multitude of new and exciting emotionally resonating experiences and the pristine beauty of Thailand’s Andaman Sea. It remains the region’s marquee attraction, with its relatively unexplored waters, where less than 10% of all superyachts have ever dropped anchor. The KRSR has put Phuket firmly on the global yachting map as the hub of the Asia-Pacific region, which altogether offers a vast, multicultural cruising ground that is more than five times the size of traditional superyacht playgrounds like the Caribbean islands.
